The Weekly Ritual That Snaps You Out of Procrastination
Aug 04, 2025
Let’s be real. We’ve all had those weeks where everything feels busy but nothing meaningful gets done.
You avoid the big stuff. You scroll. You make another to-do list.
Then you beat yourself up for not doing the thing you said you'd do.
This ritual changes that.
It’s designed to shock your system, reset your ambition, and make laziness feel uncomfortable.
I do this every week. I give it to clients who are stuck in a loop.
It works because it’s not about motivation. It’s about disruption.
1. Start Cold
Take a 2-minute cold shower.
Yes, seriously.
Say this out loud while you're in it:
“Comfort is the enemy. I choose hard things because they make me stronger.”
This isn’t about the water. It’s about control.
If you can win against resistance first thing, the rest of the day doesn’t stand a chance.
2. Get Honest With Yourself
Grab a notebook or open voice notes on your phone. Answer these five questions:
-
What did I avoid last week?
-
Why did I avoid it?
-
What fake work did I waste time on?
-
What did it cost me?
-
What’s one move that would change everything if I stopped avoiding it?
No fluff. Just truth. If it stings, you’re doing it right.
3. Move With Intention
Now get physical.
15 minutes. Push your body. No distractions. Just you and the reps.
It can be a bodyweight workout, a sprint, a brutal circuit. Doesn’t matter.
What matters is that it’s hard.
While you're moving, say your why out loud.
“I’m doing this for my family.”
“I’m not staying stuck.”
“I said I want more. This is what more looks like.”
Make it real. Make it personal.
4. Set 3 Non-Negotiables
Pick three real outcomes for the week. Not tasks. Outcomes.
Examples:
-
Post 3 videos
-
Reach out to 10 prospects
-
Launch the new offer page
Put each one on your calendar.
Then text a friend or teammate:
“These 3 things are happening this week. Hold me to it.”
Accountability doesn’t need to be complicated. It just needs to exist.
5. The Grit Trigger
Create a one-line reminder that hits you in the gut.
Something like:
“Comfort is earned, not owed.”
Write it down and stick it somewhere you’ll see daily.
Every time you see it, move.
Drop into a push-up. Do 10 squats. Stand up and walk.
Train your brain to stop sitting still in resistance.
Bonus: Add a Consequence
If you don’t hit your 3 outcomes, do something uncomfortable.
Send $50 to a political campaign you hate.
Post publicly that you didn’t follow through.
Do 100 burpees.
Make the cost of inaction worse than the fear of doing the work.
This is the system that resets my week.
No fluff. No waiting for motivation. Just action, clarity, and grit.
If you want a printable version of this or want to run it with your team, shoot me a message.
I’ll send it over.
But start it this week. Run it once.
See what happens when procrastination has nowhere to hide.
